Yogi Vinay Khurana Ji
Yoga teacher, sound healer, and the guiding spirit behind Maa Ganga Yogashala — bringing authentic yogic wisdom to students from every corner of the world.
From Mumbai to the Banks of the Ganga
Yogi Vinay Khurana Ji's path to yoga was neither straightforward nor predictable. Before founding Maa Ganga Yogashala, he spent years working in Mumbai's film industry — a world of constant pressure, deadlines, and noise. It was in that environment that he first turned to yoga, not as a career but as a lifeline.
What began as a way to manage stress became a calling. Yogi Vinay immersed himself in the ancient texts — the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras — and found in them not just philosophy but a complete map for living. He left Mumbai, came to Rishikesh, and never looked back.
Over more than a decade of dedicated practice and study in Pranayama, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Ayurveda, and Nada Yoga (sound healing), Yogi Vinay developed the integrated approach that defines Maa Ganga Yogashala today — a school where the physical, the philosophical, and the healing dimensions of yoga are taught as one living whole.

Yogi Vinay Ji's Teaching Philosophy
An approach rooted in traditional wisdom, personal practice, and genuine care for every student.
Yoga is For Everyone
Yogi Vinay Ji believes yoga belongs to every person, regardless of age, flexibility, or background. His classes are structured to support both complete beginners and experienced practitioners.
Practice Rooted in Texts
Every asana, breathwork technique, and meditation is taught with reference to its classical origins. Students understand not just how to do something, but why — grounding practice in living tradition.
Compassion & Patience
Students consistently describe Yogi Vinay Ji's teaching style as patient, encouraging, and warm. He creates a space where students feel safe to explore, question, and make mistakes — an essential condition for genuine learning.
Integration, Not Isolation
Asana, Pranayama, meditation, philosophy, and sound healing are not taught as separate subjects but as integrated dimensions of a single practice — the way yoga has always been lived in its traditional context.
Training True Teachers
The goal of the YTT programmes is not just to certify students but to form competent, confident, and compassionate teachers who understand what they are teaching and why it matters.
The Ganga as Teacher
Yogi Vinay Ji considers the sacred Ganga river an essential part of the learning environment — its presence, its energy, and its constancy teach students something that no classroom can fully replicate.
